The Society of St Vincent de Paul Exeter, NH Food Pantry and Cleo Castonguay Community Assitance Center was established in October of 1989 with the mission to provide emergancy food and assitance to those in need when all other resources have been exhusted. We serve the needs of our neighbors struggling in Exeter, Newfields , Stratham, Kensington, Brentwood and East Kingston.
About the Job
The Food Pantry Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the pantry, delegating duties to other staff and volunteers. The Food Pantry Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director.
The Food Pantry Coordinator position is primarily Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm, and once a month on Tuesday mornings from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Periodically, a weekend day is also available for an event.
The Food Pantry Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the food pantry operations. This includes managing all food organization, distribution, and inventories. The Food Pantry Coordinator is responsible for planning and logistics coordination related to food pickups, deliveries, and distributions.
- Orders all food for the pantry, including from NH Food Bank, USDA, retail, tracks inventory, receives weekly deliveries, works within assigned food budgets, tracks all required data and statistical information.
- Engages with staff and volunteers to support all areas of the pantry, including senior deliveries, store pickups, and food drives.
- Ensures food pantry, containment room, and food storage areas are clean, well-maintained, and meet NH Food Bank and sanitary standards.
- Orders/obtains all food inventories from all sources, including NH Food Bank, retail, USDA, and donors.
- Responsible for maintaining fresh foods and disposing of damaged foods.
- Daily receiving of food and supplies, sorting food, and coordinating food.
- Ability to work independently or with a team.
- Compassion for people struggling with low incomes. Strong commitment to confidentiality.
- Management for volunteers who are involved with food sorting operations and food drives.
- Multitasking and flexibility are required for a fast-paced environment.
- Models positive, respectful behavior while interacting with clients, staff, donors, and volunteers.
Education/Experience/ Requirements:
Minimum: High School diploma. Experience required with supervisory/ management. Experience preferred within a nonprofit. Physical strength/endurance/mobility to perform in daily routine. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
