Canvass Program Director

Summary
This is a short-term, full-time salaried position with an expected end date of November 11, 2022.
Overview of Role
603 Forward’s voter contact program will be working to help elect young candidates throughout New Hampshire for the 2022 election. The Canvass Director will manage a paid canvass (door knocking) program to communicate with New Hampshire voters and will execute all components of the hiring plan and canvass. The Canvass Director will also recommend and implement strategic data-driven solutions and ensure that all campaign goals are met. Responsibilities will include canvass program design; staff hiring, training and management; reporting; and working with 603 Forward leadership to evaluate and adjust the program on an ongoing basis.
The ideal candidate is able to implement, direct, and be accountable for all aspects of this statewide canvass while making strategic and innovative adjustments to improve results. They work well under pressure and can adapt in a fast-paced campaign environment. They are also able to effectively manage staff, motivating them to ensure all campaign goals are met. Salary and Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position with 603 Forward with monthly pay of $5,250. Employees have the option to enroll in 603 Forward’s retirement savings plan with an immediately—vested company match. Generous benefits for salaried employees include a health insurance premium reimbursement, a professional development stipend, mileage reimbursements, and paid time off.
Location, Hours
This position is located in-person in New Hampshire, largely in the southern part of the state. This position will require availability for the days 603 Forward is canvassing, currently Thursday-Monday from 12-6pm.

2-3 years of experience, including at least one cycle directing canvass or other grassroots outreach programs, leading voter-targeted field operations, or managing campaigns
Experience managing diverse teams
Experience working with underrepresented and/or historically marginalized communities, preferably in campaign or organizing settings
Ability to understand and synthesize data, using it to inform strategy and problem solve
Budget management experience
Experience in canvassing, with demonstrated ability to connect with diverse communities and move people to action
Strategic mindset with flexibility to quickly adjust tactics
Metrics-driven approach to planning, evaluating, and reporting on work
Valid license and access to a vehicle is required
Smart phone required
Helpful Skills
Experience in New Hampshire is a plus
Mastery of VAN
Spanish fluency is a bonus!
Lead a door-to-door voter outreach canvass across New Hampshire in rural, suburban and urban areas
Manage and recruit a team of canvassers
Develop and implement quality control processes and a strategic reporting system for each campaign tactic
Help recruit, evaluate, train and hire all staff (canvassers)
Evaluate and improve canvass strategy and operations during the course of the campaign
Conduct staff evaluations and work with HR staff to handle any performance issues
