Education & Community Manager
Media Power Youth is a nonprofit organization that inspires young people to engage with media in thoughtful and constructive ways that support their physical and mental well-being. We partner with schools and communities to invest in youth and sustain them in their journey to find balance in their technology use, such that it enriches rather than compromises their success in school and in life.
Our media literacy programs help students identify strategies for communicating their needs in positive ways. We provide opportunities to learn about internet safety, cyberbullying, managing emotions, anxiety, misinformation, relationships, body image, vaping, and other complex social situations young people experience through discussions and media creation activities. We also support educators and caregivers by providing resources and informational workshops on a variety of cultural topics impacted by media and technology.
Position Summary:
Media Power Youth is seeking a creative educator to join our team who is passionate about helping young people navigate the challenges and opportunities of growing up in a media-driven world. In this role, you’ll develop and facilitate educational programming as well as build partnerships with schools and youth-serving organizations. You’ll inspire youth through experiential programs that help young people discover their own agency in shaping digital communities and build social-emotional skills. This is a full-time position based in our Manchester, NH office with opportunities to work remotely and on-site with community partners across New Hampshire some days each week.
Responsibilities:
The Education & Community Manager has a vital role in our growing organization. You will facilitate programming and work collaboratively with our Executive Director on strategic initiatives. While Media Power Youth has a portfolio of existing programs, there is also the chance to build new learning experiences and lead passion projects that help young people use media for good. Flexible hours, professional development, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and their families are just a few of the reasons to join Media Power Youth.
