Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Granite United Way’s Marketing Team is seeking an energetic, talented individual with a passion for nonprofit work. As the Content and Events Manager, this individual will play a dynamic role in a creative and driven Marketing team with an emphasis on growing community presence across all of Granite United Way’s regions.

The primary responsibilities are to work with the Marketing team to develop content and manage internal and external events while positioning the organization as community leader in philanthropy.


Core Responsibilities

  • Leveraging opportunities to promote presence in Granite United Way’s seven regions through developing content and executing small and large-scale events.
  • Developing event marketing plans
  • Managing event budgets, sponsorship negotiations, logistics and venues for virtual and in-person events.
  • Working closely with Marketing team to identify and develop promotional opportunities through traditional and digital experiences
  • Researching and securing audio and virtual event companies.
  • Providing post-event reports and facilitating wrap-up meetings with event staff and volunteers
  • Communicate regularly with regional leads to identify ways to share community presence utilizing vehicles such as social media and local media.
  • Identify ways to take local events to scale across all Granite United Way’s regions


Shared Responsibilities

  • Provide basic photography for organization, including event and feature story images
  • Provide marketing content, general support as well as administrative duties, as needed
  • Working with other departments, such as Finance, to determine trends of event revenue and analysis of investments
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; with1-3 years of experience in marketing and communications / events management
  • Strong organizational, project management and communication skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work well in a team, excellent interpersonal skills, and positive demeanor
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Graphic design knowledge a plus – i.e. platforms such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva
  • This position will be based in our Portsmouth, New Hampshire office. The role will support enterprise-wide opportunities throughout Granite United Way’s seven regions.



This position is primarily based in a general office environment that is clean, well-lighted environmentally comfortable, free of fumes or airborne particles, and only minimally exposes employees to office solvents limited to those relative to copier equipment.


This position requires the ability to:

  1. Minimal requirement to reach at or above shoulder level; occasional reaching below shoulder level required
  2. Hand manipulation - equipment and controls, frequent; grasping and handling, occasional lifting.
  1. Ability to travel throughout the territory required
  2. Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include night and weekends
  3. Ability to tolerate prolonged sitting and/or standing and to lift up to approximately 25 pounds to waist high level whenever necessary.
  4. Mobility includes regular sitting, some standing and walking.



  • Salary $45,000-$52,000
  • COLA and Merit eligible at FYE
