Utility / Prep Food Service Worker (Recipe for Success) - NH Food Bank

The New Hampshire Food Bank is currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our team (40 hours/week) as a Utility / Prep Food Service Worker with the Recipe for Success Program (RFS). They are primarily responsible for general kitchen maintenance and food prep. · High School Diploma or GED required 

· ServSafe Food Protection Manager’s Certificate or the ability to obtain within six months, required

· Food prep/cooking knowledge and experience using knives and commercial kitchen equipment

· Must have knife and cooking skills as well as an ability to follow directions

· Experience or training in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment


· Assume responsibility for ensuring that the RFS Kitchen is kept clean and in good order

· Assist Chefs with food preparation as guided to include washing, cutting, mixing, cooking, cooling, panning, assembling, wrapping and delivering when necessary. 

· Ware washing, washing and sanitizing dishes according to proper approved techniques and ensuring items get stored in their appropriate places.

· Upkeep and maintain all surfaces of the kitchen and food storage areas in a sanitary condition following approved methods

· Break down and remove all cardboard for recycling, and removal of trash 

· Provide support to the Chefs and students when necessary to break down, clean and sanitize kitchen equipment

· Ensure that all kitchen wares are stored appropriately in their places, to include catering equipment, paper goods and chemicals

· Rotate, label and put away stock as it comes in to ensure all food safety measures of receiving and storing foods is met

· Inform Chefs when product levels are low
