Business and Operations Assistant

Future In Sight

Future In Sight, established as the New Hampshire Association for the Blind in 1912, is the only statewide nonprofit that provides specialized services and support that meet the range of needs that individuals of all ages and stages of vision loss experience at home, at school, and in the community – including via online learning and telehealth channels. 

In a highly visual world, having a visual impairment can have a far-reaching effect on all aspects of life. From a child’s early development, teens’ preparation for the workforce, adults’ career adaptations, to seniors’ safety, independence, and mental health, building connections, accessing training and support are all critical drivers of overall health and well-being.  Both our Youth Services and Adult Services teams address the holistic needs of the person served


The Need:

The Business and Operations Assistant will provide a variety of accounting and administrative functions within the organization. In addition to processing various accounting transactions, it supports other operational functions including human resources, technology, and facilities. A successful candidate will possess strong attention to detail, is a quick learner and a problem solver.

Schedule:

Regular office hours are 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Future In Sight is located at 25 Walker Street, Concord, NH.

Requirements:

Education / Experience:

Graduate of High School, Business or Vocational/Technical School, Associates degree in Accounting and/or related course of studies preferred. Requires 3-5 years combined experience in accounting, business, payroll, administration, and/ or human resources.

Additional Requirements:

  • Able to work with minimum of supervision
  • Possess excellent time management and verbal/written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products Excel, Word, Access and Outlook
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of computer systems – accounting software and other database applications

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds of various materials on an occasional basis
  • Ability to remain standing or sitting for extended periods of time while performing job-related tasks
Responsibilities:
  • Processing payroll
  • Processing accounts payable and billing/receivables
  • Prepare bank deposit, process cash receipts & disbursements
  • Insurance verification & medical billing
  • Monitors technical aids inventory and ensures proper pricing
  • Performs duties associated with the maintenance and improvements to Program Services client management software
  • Assists with the development of systems and procedures for administrative and accounting functions
  • Assists with the management of personnel records
  • Support employee onboarding and other HR functions including; new hire documentation, benefits renewals, and management of personnel records
  • Maintain records within the client management system
  • Maintain business office records
  • Other clerical duties as assigned
