Lawyer Referral Service Coordinator

The NH Bar Association (NHBA) is a statewide professional association that supports members of the legal profession and their service to the public and justice system. The NHBA is a unified bar association, meaning that bar association membership is mandatory for all those licensed to practice law in the State of New Hampshire. The NH Bar Association offers a comfortable working environment with a strong compensation package. 



Coordinates the Lawyer Referral Service (Full Fee and Modest Means), Law Line, and Free Legal Answers-NH programs, including supervision of support staff. This is a 100% in-office position and only local candidates will be considered.


BS/BA Degree, Paralegal Degree/Certificate or equivalent experience. JD preferred; otherwise, min. 6-8 years’ experience as a paralegal in a legal setting is required.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Respond to requests for legal information from the public and make referrals to panel attorneys or other resources
  • Train and oversee program support staff
  • Recruit LRS panel attorneys and respond to panel attorney needs
  • Develop procedures and system for programs
  • Administer program fees
  • Respond to client grievances and elevate to Director/Committee when needed
  • Work with Director of Marketing, Communications and Member Outreach to manage online presence via social media and NHBA website
  • Compile and track program statistics
  • Assist with program marketing to NHBA members and the public
  • Assist with program budgeting and financial projections
  • Liaison to LRS Committee
  • Monitor LRS trends/update Director
  • Outreach to attorneys at Bar events, meetings, CLEs, etc.
  • Track case statuses and percentage fees. Follow up on delinquent reports from panel members.
  • Determine client financial eligibility for programs
  • Keep current with legal practice trends and key changes in the law to develop new practice panels
  • Write LRS Newsletter to Panel Members
  • Keep up to date on community resources and other legal service programs
