Prevention Educator

Turning Points Network

Turning Points Network provides a 24 hour crisis and support line for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, bullying and stalking.  We also provide  emergency shelter, court advocacy, peer counseling, economic independence programs, and support groups.  Our outreach staff provide education programs in the community and school system.  We also own and operate Changes thrift store and dedicate 100% of the proceeds to helping our survivors.


This full-time position will provide prevention and outreach interventions in Sullivan County with a focus on primary prevention through educational programs to community members, schools, and organizations.  The overall objective of the prevention educator is to stimulate change related to violence prevention through education and advocacy. The qualified individual will facilitate and present best practice prevention programs on sexual violence, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking to preschool, elementary, middle school, high school, and college students; develop and implement evaluation methods for prevention programs, trainings, and special projects; develop new curricula, presentations, and activities for students, community members, and professionals as identified through needs assessments, surveys, and evaluation of current programs; assist Direct Services team in training new volunteers and staff; and represent agency at designated events. The prevention educator must possess a related degree or work experience and have effective written and oral communication skills.  A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance required. The ideal candidate will be well organized, adaptable, creative, and able to communicate with diverse audiences, with community collaboration experience. Salary Range:

31,000 to 38,500
