Youth Support Specialist

The Upper Room, A Family Resource Center

The Upper Room, A Family Resource Center located in Derry, NH is a 501C(3) non-profit organization, committed to creating educational programs and services to strengthen individuals, families and the community.   Founded in 1986, our organization has provided support, services, education and resources to all who inquire.  Our center is a warm and welcoming place, striving to foster a sense of belonging, connection and purpose, while providing information and guidance to strengthen children and families, and build a stronger community.

Our mission: ”Strengthening individuals and families by providing them with education,services and resources needed to live healthy, self sufficient lives”.

To support youth in need educational and after school services.

  • Hold a degree in education or counseling.
  • Experience, and enjoyment  working with adolescents
  • Understanding of family systems and strategies to encourage change
  • Experience in guiding and coaching teens, facilitating groups
  • Ability to set strong professional/boundaries.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Provide direct support to students through academic tutoring, mentoring support.
  • Develop Community service/mentorship youth development program that promotes healthy activities and service in our community
  • Facilitate Adolescent programs to support healthy lifestyles using the Take Control and Challenge Course Curriculum Models
  • Complete all reporting documents, registrations,  attendance sheets, reports.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Follow evidence-based practices that lead our  industry. in best practices.  
  • Support the organization through a team approach, working collaboratively.
