Family Support Specialist

The Upper Room, A Family Resource Center

The Upper Room, A Family Resource Center located in Derry, NH is a 501C(3) non-profit organization, committed to creating educational programs and services to strengthen individuals, families and the community.   Founded in 1986, our organization has provided support, services, education and resources to all who inquire.  Our center is a warm and welcoming place, striving to foster a sense of belonging, connection and purpose, while providing information and guidance to strengthen children and families, and build a stronger community.

 Provide comprehensive support, case management and services to strengthen  individuals and  families, through services, education and skills building. 

This part time position has the potential to turn to a fully time position for an interested candidate.   

  • Hold a degree in education/counseling, social work preferred.
  • Experience and familiarity  with local resources .
  • Experience doing intake and case management services.
  • Understanding of family systems preferred.
  • Ability to set strong professional/boundaries.
  • Attention to detail a must.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Provide direct support to individuals and families through  intakes/ case management meetings, home visiting, and parent education to identify needs, and to provide  support and solutions  to their families.
  • Create goals, and service plans which address needs of families, and foster the development of healthy children.
  • Develop individual plans that offer assistance, support, education and guidance.
  • Provide Parenting ideas and education, which  offer solutions to challenges that impact caregivers and parents.
  • Work with TUR programs and other agencies to identify resources and services for families.    
  • Complete all reporting documents, attendance sheets, case notes, reports.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Follow evidence-based practices that lead our industry.
  • Support the organization through a team approach, working collaboratively.
