The New Hampshire Food Bank is currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Warehouse Associate. The Warehouse Associate performs all duties related to order selection, the loading and unloading of trucks, and the receiving and stocking of inventory.

• High School diploma or GED, preferred

• Food Safety License and/or Certificate desired

• Basic material handling and warehouse/inventory practices knowledge required

• Experience in warehouse operations preferred

• Ability to operate fork lifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment

• Capable of working independently or as a member of a team

• Able to work with individuals of varied backgrounds and deal tactfully with the general public.  Must be flexible and have personal integrity.

• Able to work with frequent interruptions and respond appropriately to unexpected situations.  

• Communicate well both orally and in written form as well as being able to follow oral and written instructions.

Physical Requirements

• Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information

• Frequent movement and regularly required use of wrists, hands, fingers, and legs.  Actions  include bending, lifting, and kneeling

• Visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.

• Ability to work on your feet for the majority of the time with extensive walking and lifting

• Exert up to 34 lbs of force occasionally


• Clean and maintain warehouse, coolers, equipment, and facilities ensuring that work areas are clean, secure, and well-maintained

• Select and stage orders for agencies

• Set up and keep stock in shopping areas as well as rotate stock and store salvage and boxed donations

• Receive and unload trucks as well as prepare loads for shipping to member agencies

• Work as needed for special events such as food shows and fund raising which may include some night and/or weekend work

• Provide supervision to volunteers and community service workers as directed

• Assumes the role and job functions of other Food Bank staff as appropriate
