Under the direction of the Executive Director of Youth Development, the Director of Operations oversees and manages all programs and day to day operations at the Westwood Park YMCA and sports programs for the association. The Westwood Park branch is a full-service branch with a focus on sports programming. Its unique amenities include four basketball courts, an indoor turf field, batting cages, functional training center, wellness center and group exercise studios. The Director of Programming will develop strong relationships with members and user groups and engage the community through increased programs while advancing the Y’s impact in the community. Experience in and a demonstrated track record in the areas of staff development, program innovation, and relationship building are necessary. The Westwood Park branch is the newest location of the YMCA of Greater Nashua and has tremendous opportunity for further growth and impact.

Requirements:
  • BS/BA Four year college degree or equivalent experience
  • Four or more years overall leadership experience in managing programs, with a focus on operations management and supervision.
  • Successful experience in program development and delivery, financial management, and in       coaching and leading staff, members and volunteers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and a personal commitment to service and hospitality.
  • Hands-on experience with utilizing data to make informed decisions.
  • Experience managing multiple level sports programming preferred
  • YMCA Team Leader certification preferred
  • Superior Communication skills- both written and verbal.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the nature of the YMCA movement, volunteers and staff in       the accomplishments of the YMCA goals, objectives and mission in the community.
  • Possess a concern for detail and accuracy and have the ability to delegate responsibility.
  • Must be highly motivated and possess a positive attitude towards the YMCA, character     development and our mission.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all programs and day to day operations at the Westwood Park YMCA.
  • Directly supervise, coach and support the Sports Director to ensure high quality sports programming for youth and teens across the association.
  • Create the YMCA of Greater Nashua’s brand of sports programming ensuring a continuum of services for preschoolers through seniors and novices through top athletes. (Instructional programs, recreational leagues, competitive teams, private training, etc.)
  • Create, run and oversee adult sports opportunities for both social/recreational players and experienced/competitive players that connect players to the YMCA and drive further engagement
  • Ensure enrollments meet or exceed budgeted expectations. Creating exciting offerings that drive word of mouth will be the ultimate answer, but pounding the pavement will be needed to start.
  • Fully utilize existing software to enhance communication, connect players and families, and provide a positive experience for all such as EZ Facility, PlayerSpace, Personify, and more.
  • Partner with area schools/universities, recreation departments and other organizations to create more opportunities to impact more kids in our area, particularly kids who may not otherwise be able to participate at the Y.
  • Work in partnership with the Director of Member Engagement and Wellness on fitness/wellness programs, and other Program Directors as necessary to develop programs and services that take advantage of Westwood Park’s unique placement and facilities.
  • Support Welcome Center staff at Westwood Park and work with each Membership Director and the Executive Director of Member Engagement to further drive membership at the branch.
  • Develop new programs and services for members and the surrounding community as need is identified.
  • Manage facility use and rental agreements with local sports organizations including contract development, payment processing and relationship building.
  • Assist the Executive Directors in creating new ways of serving our community, exceeding member expectations, and expanding our reach.
  • Establish a culture of quality and service in an effort to meet and exceed the goals and objectives set forth in the strategic plan and annual budget.
  • Promote the YMCA of Greater Nashua’s mission in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
  • Model relationship-building skills in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members and the community.
  • Develops, manages and monitors department budget and meet or exceed budget goals and reports variances and solutions to the Executive Director of Youth Development.
  • Ensure safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds and equipment in partnership with the YMCA’s Properties Director.
  • Collaborate with the YMCA’s Marketing Director to effectively communicate the Westwood Park YMCA’s programs and services to the community.
  • Serve as a member of the YMCA of Greater Nashua’s Management Team and support the overall objectives of the association.
  • Work with the association Development Director for the Annual Campaign to fund the mission related work of the branch.Performs other duties as assigned.
