Overnight Residential Team Leader

Spaulding Academy & Family Services is a leading provider of educational, residential, therapeutic and community based programs and services for families, and children and youth with neurological, emotional, behavioral, learning or developmental challenges, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and those who have experienced significant trauma, abuse or neglect. Established in 1871, Spaulding Academy & Family Services is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit that was formerly known as Spaulding Youth Center since 1958. Our scenic hilltop campus is located on nearly 500 acres in Northfield, NH and welcomes boys and girls from ages 4 to 21 from around the state of New Hampshire and beyond. In addition to programs provided on our Northfield campus, Spaulding’s community based programs include foster family licensing, Individual Service Option (ISO) foster care, ISO in-home services, child health support services and more, for children ages 0 to 20 and their family.


Spaulding Academy & Family Services has opportunities available for two motivated, energetic and experienced Overnight Residential Team Leaders to join our staff.

Schedule:  This is a full-time position and days are either Sunday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Saturday. Shifts are: 

Shift A:  Sunday (10pm- 7am), Monday (10pm-7am), Tuesday (10pm-7am), Wednesday (7pm -7am)
Shift B:  Wednesday (7pm -7am), Thursday (10pm-7am), Friday (10pm–7am), Saturday (10pm-7am)

Requirements:
  • Must be 21 years of age. 
  • Associates in Human Services is preferred, but will consider candidates with a High School diploma and relevant experience.
  • Experience working with emotionally, learning disabled, neuro-behaviorally impaired, autistic, or behaviorally challenged boys and girls or adolescents is preferred, but not required.
  • Crisis management skills, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to teach and train new staff on online duties, willing to engage in open communication with direct supervisors and co-coworkers, role model behavior and work practice for other staff.
  • Successful completion of PCM – Practitioner 2 – training is required. First Aid, CPR, Behavioral Tools and TBRI training is required and may obtained through Spaulding’s learning program.
Responsibilities:
  • supervision of students during overnight hours with 45-minute room checks.
  • helping to manage and respond to crises across campus.
  • training new overnight staff.
  • monitoring that safety protocols and overnight programing are followed.
  • ensuring overnight toileting schedules, morning routine, and completion of activities of daily living.
  • ensuring behavioral and cognitive program are in place through overnight hours.
  • remaining flexible in order to provide coverage during breaks and emergencies in any cottage as needed.
  • overseeing the overnight staff’s entry of data for all students.
  • general house cleaning (laundry, kitchen, soiled linen, etc.).
  • attending all required orientation classes, training sessions and meetings as assigned and participates in meaningful shift exchanges on both ends of the week.
  • providing documented weekly, advice, direction, and training for staff with direct care responsibilities.
  • overseeing that paperwork, such as overnight logs, are being completed and brought to Residential Services every Monday morning.
