Residential Advisor

Northern Human Services is a private non-profit organization that has been providing behavioral health, developmental and substance use disorder treatment services to the citizens of Coos, Carroll and Grafton counties for over 40 years. Our mission is to assist and advocate for people affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities and related disorders in living meaningful lives.


Our Residential Advisors provide quality care to program participants in an environment that promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and greater independence. This position works with individuals in our developmental disabilities program within their homes and in the community.

Requirements:

Though prior experience is preferred, training is available for the right candidate.

This position requires a valid driver’s license, proof of adequate auto insurance, completion of driver’s and criminal background checks.  This agency is an equal opportunity provider, and employer.

Responsibilities:

• Provides quality care to program participants within their home and in the community

• Maintains the comfort, privacy, and dignity of participants in the delivery of services, which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, transferring, ambulation, and range of motion, communicating or other needs.

• Assistance with the domestic duties of the program, which may include assistance with grocery shopping, meal planning, cooking, cleaning, general upkeep and other duties as assigned

• Assists with transfers, personal care, and transportation of individuals within the program, using proper body mechanics with lifting devices for accident prevention.
