Therapist, Acute Care Services

Greater Nashua Mental Health

Established in 1920, Greater Nashua Mental Health has as its mission: empowering individuals to lead full and satisfying lives through treatment and support. Our agency provides comprehensive, evidence-based behavioral health services for individuals with mental health and/or substance misuse disorders. We offer a wide array of services in office and community settings, serving adults and children.  As the State-designated Community Mental Health Center for Southern Hillsborough County, we serve everyone who walks in our doors, and no one is ever turned away due to the inability to pay for services.  Without our agency, many of the most vulnerable members of our community would not have access to critically needed behavioral health care.   We believe that by respecting people as they are, we can help them to become all that they wish to be.

We have a full-time Therapist opening in our Acute Care Services Department. This position is responsible for providing individuals and families in need with therapeutic crisis intervention and stabilization to prevent or reduce potential suicide, violent behavior and decrease the need for hospitalization. This position works closely with the client’s treatment team and other agency staff members.

The Therapist will provide crisis intervention and stabilization services over the phone and face-to-face during normal agency hours. Additional responsibilities include assessing client crisis state and immediate needs and selecting the appropriate mode of intervention. The Therapist will formulate and initiate a plan of action independently and/or in consultation with the client, psychiatrist, case manager and other various staff as appropriate.

We are seeking a Masters level clinician with significant experience in clinical diagnosis and therapeutic intervention. Candidate should have the ability to form rapid rapport and interact with a broad range of clients, including severe and chronic populations. NH State licensure preferred.

Greater Nashua Mental Health is an eligible employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program, NH State Loan Repayment Program and offers competitive salaries and comprehensive employee benefits. Apply today!
