The Center seeks a Program Assistant to provide general support to our team of program directors and managers from our Concord, NH office. The ideal candidate will bring initiative, excellent attention to detail, multi-tasking abilities, a positive, can-do attitude, and a proven ability to provide administrative and program support in a fast-paced and dynamic office environment. This is an ideal position for an entry-level candidate passionate about supporting the communities and forested landscapes in the Northern Forest region and looking to gain program experience across a wide set of issues and skill sets in the realm of rural community revitalization.


The Program Assistant is a salaried full-time position with a salary range of 36,000-$39,000; starting salary will be commensurate with experience. The Center provides a full benefits package including health insurance and generous vacation time.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative self-starter who seeks efficiencies and quality improvements and wants to understand the “why” behind the “what.” Additional qualifications include:

  • Excellent attention to organization, detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage time sensitive projects while multi-tasking daily duties and requests
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM, Mailchimp, and Survey Monkey a plus
  • A positive, can-do attitude
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in an open office setting
  • Experience dealing with senior management or executives in an administrative capacity with adaptability to a fluid, fast-paced team environment
  • College degree in a related field or equivalent experience/training
  • Ability to travel occasionally with other staff to attend in- and out-of-state meetings, which can include overnight stays.

Working closely with multiple program directors, the Program Assistant will have responsibility for the administration required to support the Center’s program teams to deliver on the Center’s mission. Specific responsibilities include:

  • General administrative support – meeting scheduling and preparation, committee scheduling, program update compilation and other tasks as needed
  • Assist program managers with logistics for meeting and other program delivery including scheduling, planning and material preparations
  • Program related surveys, data collection and compilation
  • Research to support for programs and projects
  • Data input and management in Salesforce CRM to support program activities
  • Program Impact tracking for all program areas
  • Assistance with general office duties such as supply ordering & management, electronic & paper filing, file clean-up, scanning etc.
  •  Assistance with special projects, and other related duties as assigned
