Nepali-Speaking Refugee Case Manager
Building Community in New Hampshire (BCNH), formerly known as Bhutanese Community of New Hampshire, is a tax exempt 501 C (3) nonprofit organization established in 2009. The mission of BCNH is to be a multi-ethnic, Mutual Assistance Association that provides an array of services required by diverse refugee and immigrant communities to help newcomers understand and navigate the systems that are part of everyday life. BCNH is looking for a dynamic, hardworking and innovative Case Manager and Community Health Worker who is interested in making a difference in people’s lives through active participation in BCNH activities. Interested candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
BCNH is seeking a part-time case manager to provide practical support to New Hampshire’s Bhutanese community and to other Nepali-speaking immigrants and refugees. Depending on the successful candidate’s needs and skills, the job will average 20 to 40 hours per week.
The case manager will work one-on-one with refugees, helping them with access to social services, housing, medical care, and educational opportunities. The case manager will provide encouragement and direction to improve clients’ capacity to participate in community life and to become US citizens. The case manager will ensure that the needs of new Americans are assessed and met in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner.
The case manager, if qualified, may also teach a class in English and American Civics.
Virtually all services will be provided remotely until the threat of COVID transmission is greatly reduced. When we resume in-person work, the position will be based at BCNH’s Manchester office.
Please email a resume and cover letter to Rick Minard, Executive Director, Building Community in New Hampshire, at rminard@bcinnh.org, by February 15.
