Amoskeag Health, formerly Manchester Community Health Center (MCHC), is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) federally qualified health center offering high-quality, comprehensive, and family-oriented primary health care and support services since 1993. Now known as The Dr. Selma Deitch Center for Children and Teens, Child Health Services (CHS) is the original pediatric practice of MCHC dedicated to improving the health and well-being of at-risk children. In June of 2019, all locations of MCHC consolidated under one name, Amoskeag Health.

Through all its programs, Amoskeag Health serves over 14,579 patients annually across four locations in Manchester.

This health center receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.

Primary care, preventive care, outreach and enabling services at Amoskeag Health are supported in part by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under the Health Center Cluster grant number H80CS00571. This grant provides approximately 15% of total revenue.


Job Description

The Program Assistant is responsible for supporting the Nutrition Program staff and coordinating billing process for healthcare services provided by three Special Medical Programs at Amoskeag Health (Nutrition Program, Child Development Clinic and Complex Care Network).

Specific Duties Include but are not limited to:
•Maintain and update NFS clients in the SMS database, enter provider’s encounter data, complete discharges and run reports as needed
•Process and track prior authorizations for nutrition providers
•Process and track Behavioral Health prior authorizations for Child Development Clinic (Psychologists)
•Enter and update demographic & insurance data in Office Ally for all 3 programs
•Gathers claims data/denials weekly to trouble shoot and improve revenue
•Maintain patient confidentiality
•Assist with and attend quarterly NFS meetings as requested, monthly SMP staff meetings and other mandatory meetings
•Participate in quality assurance activities
•Work closely with and take direction from Amoskeag Health billing and finance departments
 
Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, Associates Degree preferred
  • Two years of prior medical billing experience
  • Must be organized, and detailed oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Team player who has the flexibility to respond to change in priorities and job duties
  • Ability to understand and maintain client confidentiality
  • Respectfully work with culturally and economically diverse population of families of children with special health care needs
  • Able to handle multiple priorities and work independently

 

Hourly position; 25 hours/week                                        
Hourly rate: $16-17
