The Occupational Health Nurse is an integral part of our clinical team responsible for delivering occupational health services for organization employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for the duties listed below:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Administer the Agency DOT program and the Drug-Free Workplace Program.
  • Oversee and assist with pre-employment health screenings and ongoing health requirements to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and agency policies.
  • Provide case management of non-occupational illness and injury that potentially impact the workplace.
  • Provide case management of medical injuries greater than first aid.
  • Attend workers’ compensation hearings as appropriate.
  • Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive inquiries and complaints; evaluate problems and take appropriate action to resolve issues/concerns.
  • Assist with case management of cases of medical leaves to facilitate productivity, assuring appropriate care and return to work.
  • Assist with incident investigation, root cause identification, uncover patterns and trends in injury data and make recommendations to supervisor.
  • Maintain OSHA records/reports and employee medical files.
  • Establish, develop and maintain a strong network with providers and specialty providers.
  • Contribute in the design of controls for injury prevention and health surveillance related to actual and potential hazards in the work environment.
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation.
  • Participate as a member of the Health, Benefits and Wellness HR Team and provide back up support as needed for vacations and large team projects.
  • Participate as an essential member of the COVID Response Team.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with current state licensure
  • Five to seven (5-7) years’ claims management experience
  • Three to five (3-5) years’ experience in an occupational health role preferred
  • Strong communication, verbal and written skills
  • Strong computer skills to include MS Excel and electronic calendaring
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
