Marketing and Communications Director

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Hampshire

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Hampshire provides afterschool programs, summer day camps and basketball leagues to 2500 youth throughout the central New Hampshire area including Concord and Laconia areas. Our mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who most need us, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.  We offer a safe place to belong, caring adult mentors and programs covering everything from academics and leadership development to physical fitness and healthy habits.

The Communications and Marketing Director will be telling Boys & Girls Clubs of Central NH story and building public awareness of services, programs and activities with a focus on reaching donors, parents, alumni, and communities that we serve. The right candidate will be independent thinker with experience with digital, email, and print communication and grant writing. The Communications and Marketing Director will work in a team-based, fast-paced, growing child care environment, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.  This position will also work closely with the program directors and management staff in order to receive member/club stories and to determine potential audiences and best approaches for marketing.


-College degree in relevant field, plus substantial experience in marketing, communications, branding, event planning, grant writing or a related industry.

-Two to three years of progressively responsible experience in marketing and public relations, including media relations.

-Superior writing, editing and verbal communications skills.

-Strong project management, administrative and organizational skills, including supervision of vendors, suppliers and consultants

-Knowledge of desktop publishing, basic computer applications and social media channels

-Able to manage multiple priorities and be attentive to details

-A proven self-starter able to work both independently and as part of teams.

-Ability to think creatively and "outside the box."

-Ability to travel when necessary.

-Eagerness to learn new content, take risks, and face challenges with a sense of humor and problem-solving attitude.



Develops and implements solicitation, marketing and public relations strategies designed to build appreciation and support of Clubs programs, services and activities, and increase member participation.

Strategic Planning

 Identifies opportunities to promote Clubs services, programs and activities to specific constituents or the public at large

 Insures compliance with the Boys and Girls Club marketing protocol.

Resource Development

Contributes to attaining financial support by building the Club's base of support through marketing and public relations campaigns. Responsible for writing all grant requests.

Helps design and promote special events that focus awareness on Clubs activities; engages community support and generates revenues.

Resource Management

Controls marketing and public relations expenditures against budget. Manages vendors and freelance consultants pertaining to the marketing/public relations expenditures to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of products and services.

Establishes and maintains procedures and formats for marketing and public relations materials and activities.

Continuously develops knowledge of best practices to market Clubs programs, services and activities within the community.

Partnership Development

Develops collaborative partnerships with Club staff, volunteers, members, parents, supporters, other Clubs, media contacts, consultants and vendors and other nonprofits to establish professional links within the community.

Marketing and Public Relations

Participates in development of and coordinates implementation for all marketing and public relations activities to increase the visibility of Clubs programs, services and activities.

Maintains good public relations with local media contacts, members, families, alumni, community leaders and youth serving professionals.
