Family Support Specialist- Parenting Plus Program (20 hours)

Family Support Specialist-Parenting Plus Program, (20 hours) Family Support Specialist needed part time in our Parenting Plus Program in Manchester, NH. The specialist focuses on understanding and supporting Parent/Child Interaction that promotes optimum social emotional and physical development of children.  While working in partnership with schools, state agencies, and medical providers as well as social service agencies to address family’s concrete needs and to help promote family self-sufficiency.  Family Support Specialist provides home visits follow a protocol developed by Maternal and Child Health and the evidenced based curriculum, Parents as Teachers. This program primarily follows the PAT curriculum, among others. Completing paperwork timely and effectively is important to the success of this position, self-motivated, and detail-oriented candidates are strongly encouraged. Reflective supervision is provided to support the work of the support specialist/home visitor.  Waypoint is an equal opportunity employer. BS or BA degree with experience and 1 to 2 years of home visiting, infant/toddler development or parenting education preferred. Bilingual candidates strongly desired. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently collaborating with client and staff to coordinate services. Other skills needed are the ability to complete paperwork timely and effectively as well as having strong verbal and face to face communication skills. The chosen candidate will be required to submit to a criminal background, motor vehicle record check and have auto insurance which must meet agency standards.
