IT Administrator responsibilities of this position include assisting with network and server management, Internet and Telecommunications as well as providing technical and problem-solving support to computer users in the organization. This includes supporting desktops, laptops, printers, faxes, scanners and other peripherals, as well as performing routine maintenance and upgrade functions on both hardware and software.

Specific (Essential) Responsibilities:
• Back-up the Director of IT specifically in the areas of: Network and server administration, Data Backup/Recovery; Remote Office Connectivity; and Phone Systems.
• Assist in providing end user support to all GSIL computer users involving desktop hardware, operating systems, and printers.
• Assist with Microsoft Office setup, trouble shooting and end user software support.
• Coordinate, conduct or co-present training workshops for staff and consumers on a periodic basis.
• Conduct one-on-one training sessions on specific computer/phone functionality, as needed at all GSIL locations.
• Assist with installation of new PC/LAN hardware and software and coordination of hardware and software upgrades to workstations.
• Run voice and data cables as may be required.
• Assists with updating IT Task Requests and inform users/requestors when task has been completed.
• Assists in the coordination of desktop hardware repairs with vendors.
• Track and update IT equipment inventory and provide periodic report to Finance department.
• Maintain Helpdesk software, ensure ticket entry, ensure ticket progress is accurately captured and run weekly reports.
• Maintain professional knowledge /skills by reviewing professional literature and attending trainings /workshops.
• Support and uphold workplace regulations and safety practices.
• Conduct other duties as assigned that will increase options for persons with disabilities to live independently in their communities.

Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple problems and tasks and function independently with minimal oversight and direction. One to three years of network and server administration, telecommunications, and PC/Desktop Support experience in a large office environment. Proficient with current Microsoft Operating Systems, Active Directory, MS Office, VMware, and hardware support. Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively internally and externally. Possess good organizational skills and able to work independently and as a member of a team. Associate’s degree required and a Bachelor’s degree desired. Valid driver’s license.

Physical/Mental demands:
While performing the duties of this position, the individual is regularly required to sit, use a computer, a telephone, and other office equipment and to move throughout the building and attend outside meetings. Employee may occasionally need to exert up to 75 pounds of force to lift carry, push or otherwise move objects (e.g. files or presentation materials). This position requires the ability to express or exchange ideas and to comprehend and present detailed information. Use of personal car is required to regional offices statewide.
