President/CEO

Greater Nashua Mental Health

Established in 1920, Greater Nashua Mental Health has as its mission: empowering individuals to lead full and satisfying lives through treatment and support. Our agency provides comprehensive, evidence-based behavioral health services for individuals with mental health and/or substance misuse disorders. We offer a wide array of services in office and community settings, serving adults and children.  As the State-designated Community Mental Health Center for Southern Hillsborough County, we serve everyone who walks in our doors, and no one is ever turned away due to the inability to pay for services.  Without our agency, many of the most vulnerable members of our community would not have access to critically needed behavioral health care.   We believe that by respecting people as they are, we can help them to become all that they wish to be.


Greater Nashua Mental Health (GNMH) is seeking a full-time President/CEO to join our agency! This position reports directly to the Board Chair of our Board of Directors. The President/CEO is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, planning, development, coordination, and evaluation of all operations at GNMH.

The President/CEO will assure effective treatment and sound fiscal operations, maintain a strong affiliation within the behavioral health system in NH and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations while monitoring services and delivery systems.

Position responsibilities include:

• Partners with the board in the development, implementation and adherence to the organization’s vision, strategy and annual goals.
• Develops collaborative relationships with community organizations to provide a system of integrated care that ensures access, reduces redundancy and improves the mental health status of the community.
• Engages with senior leadership to monitor agency strategic planning to maximize opportunities by overseeing planning processes involving all key stakeholders.
• Works with agency leadership to maintain open and clear communication with staff, to utilize the talents and ideas in decision-making, to create a positive culture and a high-quality stable workforce.
• Collaborates with agency leadership managing a portfolio of programs that balances serving community behavioral health needs with sustainable agency operations and ensures high quality, accessible behavioral health services are provided to the community.
• Develops staff and ensures a viable succession plan for key management positions.
• Coordinates with agency and Board leadership to monitor agency financial performance with responsibility for reporting key financial, operational and quality measures which includes progress to annual goals to the board.
• Establishes, models and sustains a culture that’s respectful, collaborative, ethical, compliant, engaging and accountable.
• Practices an open-door policy with frequent agency wide communications to staff.
• Responsible for resource development including grants, private foundations and support to fund raising efforts.
• Represents agency in local community events and organizations as appropriate to the agency mission and values
• Provides direct supervision to the senior leadership team ensuring role clarity and accountability.
• Stays abreast and ahead of changes in health and behavioral health fields.
• Attends and actively participates in meetings of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and other Board Committees as appropriate.
• Collaborates with the leadership team to ensure that all center activities, policies and practices are in compliance with agency, federal and state standards, regulations and requirements.
• Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.
 
Candidate qualifications include:

• Minimum of 9 years of successful leadership experience in behavioral health setting with positive financial and operational results.
• Passion for empowering individuals to lead full and satisfying lives through effective treatment and support.
• Financial acumen and ability to set clear priorities through strategic planning resulting in delegation and guided investment in people, programs and systems.
• Excellent coalition building skills with an ability to network, form relationships, communicate and work effectively with a variety of external stakeholders
• Demonstrated collaborative and inclusive management style, the ability to lead a diverse and entrepreneurial organization with a strong commitment to the professional development of staff.
• Experience in board development, maintenance of open lines of communication/transparency.  
• Knowledge of recovery, community support services provided to adults and children with mental illness, substance use, along with clinical and family support services provides to children and their families.
• An in-depth understanding of the regulatory/policy environment in which behavioral health services are delivered and funded.
