Office of Public Guardian

The Office of Public Guardian (OPG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing guardianship and other fiduciary services to legally incapacitated individuals in New Hampshire.  OPG has 40 years of experience serving as guardian of the person and guardian of the estate for individuals living with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, progressive cognitive loss due to dementia or other neurological disorders, and traumatic brain injuries.  The staff of approximately 50 committed professionals work under the supervision of an experienced management team including an Executive Director, Director of Legal Services, Director of Finance, Director of Fiduciary Services and Director of Guardianship.

Our goal is to protect the legal and human rights and civil liberties of each individual we serve. Full time Client Resource Specialist position available with the Office of Public Guardian (OPG). OPG is a non-profit organization providing legal guardianship and fiduciary services statewide on behalf of adults with memory impairment, traumatic brain injury, intellectual disability and mental illness. The Client Resource Specialist provides representative payee services for Social Security income and maintains eligibility for state and federal entitlements to ensure that individuals receive all necessary benefits. Duties include creating budgets, balancing accounts and paying client bills, as well as collaborating with clients, guardians, treatment providers, housing, and public benefits offices. This position requires knowledge of state and federal benefits, and excellent math, verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of trusts and guardianship estates a plus. The qualified candidate must have the ability to be detail oriented while managing a high caseload, and be comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a team. This position requires a high degree of integrity, accountability and discretion, as well as compassion and a commitment to serve vulnerable citizens of our state. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
