Spaulding Academy & Family Services is a leading provider of educational, residential, therapeutic and foster care programs and services for children and youth with neurological, emotional, behavioral, learning or developmental challenges, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and those who have experienced significant trauma, abuse or neglect. Established in 1958, our spacious campus is located on nearly 500 acres in Northfield, NH and welcomes boys and girls from 5 to 21.

Spaulding has a wonderful opportunity available for a Director of Development & Community Relations. This role reports directly to, and works closely with, the CEO & President of Spaulding Academy & Family Services and its Board of Directors. Serving as a key leader on the Spaulding Academy & Family Services Executive Management Team, the selected candidate will act as the chief fund raising coordinator responsible for providing strategic leadership for planning, implementation and administration of fund raising activities for Spaulding. Knowledge of non-profit organizations is helpful.

Requirements:

Requirements for this role include a college degree and a proven track record with 5-10 years of progressive fund raising experience.

Candidates must possess high energy, have a positive attitude, a good sense of humor, superb communication, organizational and management skills; have the ability to exercise discretion in regard to confidential donor information; ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
Strong strategic and analytical skills; proven track record of managing an integrated marketing and communications plan; Excellent writing, editing and oral communications skills; ability to effectively interface at all levels within the organization;
Works well under deadline pressure; ability to establish strong relationships; works well in team setting; displays flexibility. Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities and meet deadlines; attention to detail a must. Proficiency using Microsoft Office and willingness to learn other computer programs. Experience with Raiser’s Edge or other fund raising programs required.

Responsibilities:

Principle responsibilities include fund raising and community relations, donor data management and serving on the executive leadership team.
