Program Nurse

Riverbend Community Mental Health

Founded in 1963, Riverbend Community Mental Health is a private, nonprofit organization providing specialized behavioral health services in central New Hampshire. Core services include 24/7 emergency mobile crisis services; counseling services for children, adults, and families; addiction treatment; and community support, vocational services, and residential programs for adults and seniors. Program Nurse (20 hours/week) *Sign-on bonus $1,000*

Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., one of the largest providers of community-based mental health services in New Hampshire, is seeking a part-time Program Nurse in our Children’s Program which provides outpatient services to children and families.

As a Program Nurse, you will provide medical screening and behavioral health care nursing support services to children served by the program. *This position has a $1,000 sign-on bonus!

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Active LPN license, or ability to be licensed in NH, required.
  • Experience providing care to clients experiencing psychiatric crises is preferred.
  • Experience treating patients with a diverse clinical profile and clinical co-morbidities is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with attention to detail is required.
  • Provides medical assessments and interventions consistent with client’s individual needs, treatment plan, and generally accepted standards of care or evidence-based practices. 
  • Maintains up-to-date health screening forms in electronic health record.
  • Documents care provided.
  • Refers medical problems to other providers and communicates medication changes, mental status or physical assessment as indicated and authorized by client.
  • Works collaboratively with outside agencies based on the needs of the clients.
  • Assists medical providers with questions or calls about medication orders (from pharmacies, clients, family members, and/or other facilities) by clarifying what the request is, and at the prescriber’s request, relays the medication order to the pharmacy.
  • Assists in obtaining prior authorizations.
  • Facilitates school and camp medication orders.
  • Maintains inventory of medical supplies.
  • Adheres to the ethical standards as put forth by the discipline’s code of conduct and ethics.
  • Assists with communication of data to and from partnering organizations and offices (schools, camps, PCPs)
  • Assists with ongoing new client data and facilitating initial psychiatric evaluations.
