Database and Web Manager, ACA

Southern District YMCA

The Southern District YMCA has a long history of providing many communities throughout Southern New Hampshire with outstanding programs and services for youth. The Y’s Camp Lincoln is a traditional summer camp and outdoor education facility offering over 1500 campers the opportunity to engage in healthy activities. More than 750 children are enrolled in 15 before and after school sites through the Y’s child care programs. And just over two years ago, the Y opened the Exeter Area YMCA, a 33,000-square-foot multi-generational health and wellness center, which has seen membership growth that exceeds expectations. The Southern District YMCA is also currently exploring Phase 2 of a capital campaign to add a new aquatics facility to its Exeter location. The YMCA is currently seeking a new leader who will provide strong support for all aspects of the Y’s operations and strategic initiatives.

Service Area & Demographics: SDYMCA serves the NH towns of Brentwood, Danville, East
Kingston, Exeter, Fremont, Hampstead, Hampton, Hampton Falls, Kensington, Kingston, Newton,
North Hampton, Plaistow, Raymond, Seabrook, and Stratham.

History: In 1926, YMCA Camp Lincoln began as a summer camp on Kingston Lake. Today,
summers are full of 1,500 campers aged 3-15 and a robust counselor-in-training program for 14-
15-year old’s. Year-round activities at Camp Lincoln include outdoor education, team-building
programs and weekend rentals serving an additional 11,000 people. YMCA School Age Child Care
operates 15 before and after school programs meeting HEPA standards and state licensing
requirements for 750 students. Exeter Area YMCA opened its doors in September 2015 to an
eager community. The 33,000 square feet facility serves over 6,300 members, averaging 400

Full Time (30-39 hours)

The Data and Web Manager is responsible for establishing business rules, maintaining documentation of data and reporting protocols, and assisting in the development and

implementation of best practices for the management of the organization’s databases including the assurance of database policies and procedures, data integrity, data extraction,

report customization and analysis. Supports staff with the use of the ThinSoft database. The Database Systems Manager will be the point of contact for website enhancements and

Troubleshooting as well. 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, CIS/MIS, Computer Science, Web Development or related field or the equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in developing databases and project management. 
  • Experience designing, developing and generating reports from a relational database application.
  • Database design, deployment and management experience is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of the principles of database management and business process workflow.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite with advanced skills in Word, Excel and Access.
  • Proficient in use of web platforms such as Adobe Dreamweaver and WordPress.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to accomplish responsibilities, goals and projects.
  • Organize work to meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems is highly desirable.

Database Management & Website Maintenance (80%)
Currently includes SDYMCA Website, ThinSoft, CampBrain, MindBody and SlickText.

  • Maintain the data integrity and enforcement of database business processes through the management of code values, business rules and other set-up functions.
  • Review and update organization procedures for use of ThinSoft to increase efficiency and enhance performance.
  • Optimize the use of the databases across the organization by staying current on upcoming enhancements to functionality and guiding staff in the appropriate use of the existing functionality.
  • Serve as team member on technology projects that integrate with relational databases.
  • Manage the relationship with ThinSoft support team, prioritizing change requests, escalating issues that require immediate resolution and advocating for fixes/patches to the application when appropriate.
  • When new functionality is required, manage project to collect business requirements from key stakeholders, make recommendations and implement solutions. If needed, document requirements for outside vendors and oversee functional specifications, development, testing and staff training on new functionality.
  • Update website content and manage relationship with vendor.


  • Implement new programs and major program changes in ThinSoft.
  • Manage on-going programs as needed.


  • Create and maintain YMCA user manuals for the use of databases


  • Create reports to support needs across organization.
  • Develop and maintain queries and reports for organization.


  • Provide support and training in use of ThinSoft and website, including orientation for new staff and specialized training in response to changing roles, business processes and database functionality.


Network Administration (20%)
Serve as primary interface with network administration vendor (Axis Computer Networks)

  • Screen staff member network/computer issues for escalation to Axis
  • Assist staff members with password and network access issues
  • Manage tasks for on-site visits from Axis support technicians
  • Work with Axis to recommend technology improvements
