Weare Unit Director
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Hampshire provides afterschool programs, summer day camps and basketball leagues to 2500 youth throughout the central New Hampshire area including Concord and Laconia areas. Our mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who most need us, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. We offer a safe place to belong, caring adult mentors and programs covering everything from academics and leadership development to physical fitness and healthy habits.
We have an exciting, full time opportunity for a creative, energetic and organized individual to oversee programming and daily enrichment activities for children in grades K-8 at our unit in Weare, NH.
The Unit Director is responsible for directing, managing and overseeing the delivery of a broad range of programs and services for the after school and summer camp programs. He/she will supervise program staff and volunteers.
Applicants must be at least 20 years of age with a valid driver’s license, high school diploma or general equivalency diploma and one of the following:
· Written documentation form on file with the department that she or he was qualified and employed as a site director in a school-age program on or before the effective date of 2017 rules.
· A minimum of an Associate’s degree in early childhood education, awarded by a regionally accredited college or university.
· Certification of successful completion of training as a recreation director plus 1000 hours experience working with children in a licensed child care program.
· A total of 12 credits in child development, education, recreation, or other field of study focused on children, from a regionally accredited college plus 1000 hours of experience working with children.
-Plans and organizes age appropriate programs and works to ensure the safety of members and staff.
-Works with the Communications Director to keep staff, parents, Club members and the general public aware of the aims, objectives, standards, programs, and activities of the program.
-Promotes and stimulates interest in activities.
-Serves as program's professional representative, whenever and wherever such representation is required or requested.
-Establishes and maintains a friendly and cooperative relationship with the public and private youth serving agencies and other organizations in the community so as to further the image and interests of the program.
-Performs administrative tasks within the program.
This is a salaried position with benefits. Salary range is between $35,600.00 and $37,000.00, based on experience.
