The SHARE Fund has been a consistent and respected assistance provider in the community for over 25 years. With the following mission: “To provide material and financial assistance to address emergency basic needs and inspire people to become financially self-sufficient.”, the SHARE Fund operates several programs such as Gerry’s Emergency Food Pantry, The Community Clothing Shop, Emergency Financial Assistance, and the Community Diaper Bank. Four paid part-time staff, an average of 100 volunteers, and an active Board of Directors work together to contribute to the success of the agency, which serves over 5,000 households annually.

The SHARE Fund in Rochester, NH is seeking a dedicated, self-directed, and mission-driven director to lead the daily operations of a small nonprofit. This 25 – 30 hour/week salaried position requires scheduling flexibility to work some weekdays, every other Saturday, and occasional evenings. The starting salary is $28,000/year.


The successful candidate will have demonstrated skills and experience in the following areas:

  • At least five years of experience in a leadership role for a nonprofit.
  • Excellent and up-to-date technology skills to include proficiency in QuickBooks; working knowledge of MS Office applications, especially MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher; web design skills; comfortable working with SQL databases; skilled in using social media; knowledgeable in the use of various office and presentation equipment; and effective technology problem-solving abilities.   
  • Broad knowledge of local assistance resources and acronyms.
  • Outstanding oral and written interpersonal communication skills to include the ability to relate to people at all levels, presentation skills, and effective listening skills.
  • Understanding of the needs of low-income households and underserved populations and knowledge of current social, political, and economic trends which affect them.
  • Creative abilities to develop new programs and enhance existing programs to best meet current needs of the community.
  • Ability to ensure effective outcome management and program evaluation to achieve continuous improvement.
  • Able to provide a positive, inspiring, and innovative work environment for staff, volunteers and clientele.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • History of successful grant writing/grant reporting.
  • Fundraising and event planning skills.
  • Experience with marketing and outreach.
  • Knowledgeable in interpreting and applying Federal and State policy, procedure, law, and regulations.
  • Volunteer management experience.

Educational Requirements:

  • Degree in social services, human services, or related field OR a combination of education and work experience equal to a four-year degree. 

The duties and responsibilities of the Executive Director include fiscal management, marketing and outreach, program development, reporting, personnel management, establishing and maintaining donor, partner, and vendor relationships, and designing/implementing policies and procedures.
