Amoskeag Health, formerly Manchester Community Health Center (MCHC), is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) federally qualified health center offering high-quality, comprehensive, and family-oriented primary health care and support services since 1993. Now known as The Dr. Selma Deitch Center for Children and Teens, Child Health Services (CHS) is the original pediatric practice of MCHC dedicated to improving the health and well-being of at-risk children. In June of 2019, all locations of MCHC consolidated under one name, Amoskeag Health.

Through all its programs, Amoskeag Health serves over 14,579 patients annually across four locations in Manchester.

This health center receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.

Primary care, preventive care, outreach and enabling services at Amoskeag Health are supported in part by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under the Health Center Cluster grant number H80CS00571. This grant provides approximately 15% of total revenue.


Manchester Community Health Center is looking for a motivated Psychiatric NP interested in joining an exciting healthcare team dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our patients and their families. This is an outstanding opportunity to work with a highly skilled and committed group of behavioral specialist.

MCHC provides outpatient behavioral health services for children, adolescents, adults and seniors; including mental health, chemical dependency and specialty programs. Reporting to the CMO, the Nurse Practitioner provides psycho social evaluation, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions for patients with various behavioral health issues. Duties may include evaluation treatment services including, medications management, counseling, brief treatment interventions, substance abuse assessments, treatments and referrals. 

A MS in nursing and a certified psychiatric ARNP license are required in combination with the ability to prescribe medication in New Hampshire. Make appropriate referrals to both internal disciplines of MCHC and/or external agencies for additional services required, including follow-up assessment of a medical condition by primary care physician, sub-specialty evaluation,  social services,  substance abuse, and mental health counseling.
