Amoskeag Health, formerly Manchester Community Health Center (MCHC), is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) federally qualified health center offering high-quality, comprehensive, and family-oriented primary health care and support services since 1993. Now known as The Dr. Selma Deitch Center for Children and Teens, Child Health Services (CHS) is the original pediatric practice of MCHC dedicated to improving the health and well-being of at-risk children. In June of 2019, all locations of MCHC consolidated under one name, Amoskeag Health.

Through all its programs, Amoskeag Health serves over 14,579 patients annually across four locations in Manchester.

This health center receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.

Primary care, preventive care, outreach and enabling services at Amoskeag Health are supported in part by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under the Health Center Cluster grant number H80CS00571. This grant provides approximately 15% of total revenue.

The Medical Insurance Verification Clerk supports the Quality Improvement efforts of the organization. This position will verify insurance eligibility for scheduled appointments prior to the date of service using various methods including online portals and calling insurance companies. You will be responsible for confirming that patients have active insurance coverage, who needs prior authorizations.

Responsibilities and Authorities:
1.Accurately enter insurance information into computer system.
2.Responsible for insurance verification for all patients.
3.Maintain accurate data entry of Verification of Benefits on behalf of Facilities utilizing various Carrier portal systems.
4.Maintain proficient attention to detail and accuracy, exceptional organizational and problem solving skills as applicable to various tasks, assignments or special projects assigned.
5.Maintain and ensure that all benefits are complete within specified timelines as directed.
6.Documents activity in the patient accounts.
7.Concisely, precisely and accurately document all information.
8.Maintain clear communication with insurance companies.
9.Make outgoing calls as needed.
10.Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and center related business.
11.Maintain knowledge and proficient fulfillment of re-verifying Client’s insurance benefits as needed or directed.
12. Maintain proficient knowledge of various policy types.
13.Maintain good communication skills both written and verbal in response to Clients’ or Facilities questions on Verification of Benefits or other needed information as directed.
14.Maintain ability to report daily production, challenges, progressive outcomes to Supervisor
15.Maintain collaborative interactions with Co-workers, Supervisors, and participate within a Team environment
