The Moore Center has an exciting opening for a full-time Staff Accountant who is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records and properly classifying, recording and verifying financial data.  This position is also responsible for payroll processing.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Accounting
  • Three (3) years’ experience in a large volume, computerized accounting office with General Ledger responsibility
  • Experience in processing payroll for 300+ employees
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database systems
  • ​Valid driver’s license and access to a safe operating vehicle during scheduled working hours
Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include:

  • Process payroll utilizing Paylocity payroll system; prepare journal entries for payroll expense and month end accrual
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Responsible for processing Client Billing – generating computer and manual invoices
  • Prepare electronic deposits and post client payments by recording cash, checks and credit card transactions
  • Process payments to representative payees
  • Prepare journal entries including month end accruals and adjusting entries
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Review general ledger account activity to ensure account balance accuracy
  • Ensure real time accuracy of internal cash tracking document
  • Assist with budget preparation
  • Assist with internal and external audits including preparation of audit schedules and analyses
  • Document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Prepare various AD HOC reports as required
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
