ECE Lead Teacher

Salem Family Resources/Success By 6 provides support and programs in the Greater Salem area to help families, caregivers and early childhood educators meet the physical, social, emotional and educational needs of young children and works to provide access to resources, services, and information that will strengthen families.

Success By 6-Salem Family Resources maintains a philosophy of universal access.  Programs are open to all families with emphasis on families with preschool children.  There are no ethnic, socioeconomic, or geographic restrictions for participating in programs. Participants in the programs are mothers and fathers, grandparents, and other relatives and their young children. The definition of “family” for programs is broad and non-exclusionary to include children and those who raise them.

  • The Learning Cooperative Preschool

  • Parenting workshops- including the Ready…Set…Go! Series in collaboration with The Salem School District

ECE- Full Time Teaching Position

Pre-k classroom- team teaching
35-40 hours- 8:15/8:30 AM start

NH Child Care Licensing Lead Teacher qualified:

Minimum of 1000 hours experience working with children in a licensed child care program, and meet one of the following pre-service training/education options: 

(1) A minimum of 18 credits in child development, early childhood or elementary education, or other field of study focused on children from a regionally accredited college or university, including at least 3 credits in child growth and development; 

(2) Documentation of a non-expired child development associates (CDA) in center based programs awarded by the council for professional recognition; 

(3) A credential from a teacher preparation program accredited by MACTE; or 

(4) Documentation from or on file with the department that she or he was qualified for and employed in the position of lead teacher on or before the effective date of these rules in 2017. 

Able to lift small children- emergencies, assist with playground safety and self-help skills.


Assist Director/Co-Lead Teacher in all aspects of school functions.

•Maintain NH CC licensing regulations: Personal Health Form, CPR and Professional Development Hours 

•Maintain confidentiality of information shared and overheard; Report any concerns to Director.

•Maintain contact with Director regarding all aspects of school functioning. 

•Maintain a professional environment- among staff, with parents and children


Daily Group function:

•Maintain a physically safe environment, supervise children - classroom and playground.  

•Maintain a professional demeanor, attitude and appearance; Interact with each family in a professional manner

•Model appropriate interactions with children; employ positive behavior management techniques.

•Assist in planning curriculum; lead activities per curriculum plan; log progress, student achievement; communicate with other teachers

•Assist children in self-care activities; change diapers when necessary.

•Assist in daily clean up and organization

•Assist in directing volunteers


Administrative duties:

•Communication with Director - daily for all aspects of program: staff, children, parents

•Assist in staff supervision; ensure staffing daily/subs

•Maintain Fire and evacuation drills logs as current for NH Child Care Licensing

•Assist in maintaining student records; Files, Emergency bag and procedures

•Assist with Special Events
