We are looking for a Full Time (35 hours/week) Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Mental Health Counselor/Child Therapist to join our team of dedicated professionals. In this role, you will be working at our Rochester Service location 3 days/week as well as 2 days/week at our St. Charles School, also in Rochester, NH.

Catholic Charities New Hampshire provides counseling services to individuals, couples and families, as well as parish and community outreach services.  Our clients come from all faiths and every walk of life and we are committed to serving every client with compassion and respect. 

Acting as the Clinical Social Worker/Mental Health Counselor Rochester District Office, you will ensure that appropriate clinical and social services are provided to clients in a professional and timely manner. In this role you will also work with St. Charles School in Rochester to provide clinical services to individual students whose needs require clinical intervention within a safe forum. The partnership between St. Charles School and the Rochester District Office allows the possibility for a continuity of clinical care beyond the school year and even after a student’s discharge when appropriate. 

Requirements:
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or Clinical Mental Health Counseling from an accredited educational program.
  • Licensed or eligible for license by the New Hampshire Board of Psychology and Mental Health practice. 
  • One year work experience in the field of social services working with children’s clinical issues.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office Products, and various software packages
  • Ability to work with professional and non-professional individuals of varied backgrounds, to be flexible and have personal integrity.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English and follow oral and written instructions

Physical Demands

  • Sitting, standing, bending, lifting, stretching and moving within designated work area
  • Close and distance vision, ability to distinguish color, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information
  • Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Director of Clinical Services in the responsibilities of the Rochester District Office, as needed, and to ensure that appropriate clinical and social services are provided to clients in a professional and timely manner.
  • Provide mental-health counseling in a professional and ethical manner, including diagnosing, treatment planning and the application of research-approved interventions. 
  • Knowledge of child development as well as clinical issues pertaining to children, including but not limited to: drug abuse, various depressive and trauma-related disorders, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, sexually reactive behaviors, and persistent narcissistic traits.
  • Assumes responsibility for maintaining active caseload in the Rochester District Office and at St. Charles School.
  • Ability to work with children who have behavioral issues
  • Coordinate and conduct education and/or support groups.
  • Perform Intake duties as delegated by the Director of Clinical Services.
  • Respond to community crisis intervention needs as well as respond to clients requiring emergency coverage.
  • Network with community resources, including:  human service organizations, schools, clergy and local (Catholic) deanery parishes as directed by the Director of Clinical Services.
