BBBSNH seeks a Full Time Program Coordinator. The position requires some evening/weekend work which will be described in the interview process. This position will be based out of the Lakes Region, NH. 

Position Purpose: The Programs Coordinator will provide high level customer service through the effective implementation of the enrollment and matching process in accordance to our service delivery standards. Additionally, this position holds the responsibility for the development and implementation of site based and community based programs providing match support to ensure child safety, positive impacts for youth, constructive and satisfying relationships between child and volunteer; and a strong sense of affiliation with BBBS on the part of volunteers; and, serving as liaison between community partners.


Academic/Equivalent Requirements: Minimum – Undergraduate Degree in human service related field preferred. Other relevant, non-degreed experiences may be considered. 2+ year’s prior experience preferred.

Professional: Knowledge of and/or experience in human services field a plus. MUST have a valid driver's license and consistent access to reliable transportation.

Preferred skills: Spanish-Speaking, previous experience with youth service organizations and with socio-economically diverse populations.

Personal Attributes: Must be a self-starter with strong organizational, communication and customer service skills; have the ability to interact with and relate well to others, and possess the ability to work independently. Must be flexible; have a positive, can-do attitude; and have a strong desire to work in an industry that focuses on helping others. 

  1. Participate in all appropriate program outreach and recruitment opportunities that will further the opportunity to serve youth through Site and Community Based mentoring.
  2. Coordinate and conduct all enrollments including parent, child and volunteer that includes sound child safety education and enrollment practices. Assess and refer families to different (internal and external) services as needed.
  3. Facilitate initial in-person meeting between Bigs, Littles and parent/guardians. Review ground rules and expectations in order to lay the foundation for a successful relationship.
  4. Through recurring site visits, telephone and electronic contact, determine that elements of child safety, positive relationship and youth development indicators, and signs of a sense of affiliation with the Agency are present within the child/mentor match.
  5. Ensure high-level proficiency in applying child safety and risk management knowledge, policies and procedures throughout all aspects of the job function.  Identify child safety issues for volunteers, children and their families.
  6. Ensure that potential problems and barriers to success are identified and addressed. Promptly inform supervisor regarding concerns about any factors that may negatively impact the match.
  7. Facilitate and lead training group sessions for Bigs and Littles. Assess and provide for ongoing individual training needs for each match participant to assure a positive youth development experience for the child, and a successful and satisfying experience for the volunteer. This may include training for families.
  8. Effectively utilize on-line database system for recording and reviewing all child/mentor match details.
  9. Provide friendly, approachable customer service and represent the Agency and our mission in a professional and positive manner.
  10. Assist in the preparation of agency events/activities.  Attend as needed. Plan and staff BBBSNH program match activities and other agency events. 
  11. Organize all aspects of program needs including program logistics, transportation, and communication with program liaison.
