MoCo Arts is a 501(c)3 nonprofit community-based, arts education organization serving the greater Monadnock Region. MoCo Arts provides year-round classes in dance and theatre and offers multi-arts vacation and summer camps for youth ages 18 months to 18 years and beyond. The Dance, Theatre and Young Arts programs offer more than 60 classes each week in our downtown Keene studios during the fall, spring and summer semesters.  Creative Arts at Keene (C.A.K.E.) and CupCAKE Camps offer innovative and award winning summer programming through its multi-arts day camps.

MoCo Arts seeks an experienced Production Manager to manage backstage operations, as well as to monitor and maintain all theatrical equipment and performance/storage space. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree and/or five+ years of experience in stage management, theatrical lighting, projection and sound equipment. Full description at www.moco.org.

Bachelor’s Degree and/or five years of experience, expertise with stage management, theatrical lighting, projection and sound equipment.

Proficient in:

  • Vectorworks 2017 or newer
  • Q-Lab 4
  • ETC Eos Family Software
Responsibilities:

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for meeting with each of the Program/Artistic Directors to determine the needs for each production, and help them to plan the schedules for productions in collaboration with the directors.
  • Responsible for maintaining the schedule for The Founder’s Theatre and support spaces.
  • Plan, schedule and oversee any over-hire staff needed to meet the needs of the productions.
  • Responsible for meeting with each of the Program/Artistic Directors to determine the needs for their show, and help them to execute their vision including Set, Props, Lighting, Sound, Video and Projections.
    • Includes oversight of design and build for any set and props, transportation of equipment, sets, etc. to the venue, as well as setting up any rentals needed in terms of lighting & sound equipment.
    • Be present at all Technical and Dress Rehearsals as well as Performances to run lights, sound and video, and to oversee any students or crew helping with the show.
  • Preparing The Founder's Theatre for performance weekend, including preparing all drapery, scenery, lighting, sound & video systems needed for the performance.

  • For offsite performances, the Production Manager is responsible for working with the venue to prepare all required technical needs for the show.
  • Work with any outside clients renting the theatre to coordinate and run technical elements needed for events. 

  • Monitor the condition of lighting, sound, rigging, and other theatrical equipment. Perform preventative maintenance, request repair or replacement as required and make recommendations for upgrades. Track and schedule inspection of theatrical equipment as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and expendables as necessary to keep work areas properly equipped and maintained.
  • Maintain organization of offsite warehouse used for set/prop storage & building.
