Step Up Parents Receives $6,247 Grant from The Fabulous Find

Seacoast - Seacoast-area nonprofit Step Up Parents received a June grant of $6,247 from The Fabulous Find, Kittery, ME, to provide financial support for kinship families raising the children whose parents struggle with substance use disorder in New Hampshire.

The Fabulous Find is a resale boutique that makes grants to area non-profits.  Each month, its sales benefit seacoast region organizations serving the community.

“We at The Fabulous Find have been looking for creative ways to help with the Seacoast’s addiction problem, which has been made worse by the pandemic. We realize that many children are left for their grandparents or other relatives to care for, and Step-Up Parents is there to help with that, “said Marcye Philbrook, President of the Board of Directors.  “Thank you to all the grandparents and other relative caregivers out there working so hard to give their grandchildren and young family members the childhoods they deserve!”

"We are so excited by this amazing grant and to be part of The Fabolous Find’s long tradition of giving back to the community,” said Step Up Parents Founder, Denyse Richter.

Since its founding in 2019, Step Up Parents has helped over 165 families, giving over $65,000 assistance with the help of generous grants from partners like The Fabulous Find.

About Step Up Parents: Founded in 2019 and based in Portsmouth, NH, Step Up Parents offers financial assistance and support to relative caregivers in New Hampshire who have selflessly stepped up to be surrogate parents to kids whose biological parents struggle with substance use disorder. We are dedicated to honoring the efforts of these caregivers, preserving their dignity, and responding to their families’ immediate needs.  Step Up Parents believes that even heroes need a hand.
