NH Charitable Foundation presents two gifts to the NH Food Bank

Concord – The staff at the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation gathered on Friday, December 7, at the New Hampshire Food Bank to mark the season by packing dried cranberries for distribution during the holiday season. And by presenting two gifts to help support the work of the Food Bank: a check for $6,560 donated by members of the staff and matched by the foundation, and a second gift of $25,000 given anonymously by a foundation donor.

"The Food Bank performs heroically, serving people in every corner of the state every day, and we are delighted to have this chance to support that work—financially and though volunteer efforts," said Richard Ober, president of the foundation. "We all took away a fresh appreciation of the sheer scale of the work that goes on at the Food Bank facility in Manchester and its ability to touch the lives of people in need."

The Food Bank, an initiative of New Hampshire Catholic Charities, supports more than 400 food panties in communities across the state. Last year, it distributed more than 7.8 million pounds of donated, surplus and purchased food to 143,000 men, women and children. The Food Bank also provides job training for people in financial hardship seeking to enter the food service industry, and teaches families how to prepare healthy and affordable meals.
