Kevin Peterson Joins CDFA as Director of Economic Development

The Community Development Finance Authority is pleased to welcome Kevin Peterson as the Director of Economic Development. Peterson is an emerging leader in impact investing and brings a depth of experience in grantmaking, program design and implementation in the nonprofit sector.

“Kevin’s passion for the success of our communities, national leadership in impact investing and depth of partnerships will be of great value to his new role at CDFA,” stated Katy Easterly Martey, CDFA’s Executive Director. “His extensive background in strategically investing resources and deploying programs will help shape CDFA’s community economic development initiatives and continued efforts to increase our impact throughout the Granite State.”
Prior to joining CDFA, Kevin served as Senior Program Officer for New Hampshire Charitable Foundation from 2001 to 2018. In that role, he helped design and implement the Foundation’s $12 million Impact Investing Program; managed an $800,000 nonprofit loan program; deployed the Foundation’s environment portfolio through three separate grant programs that distributed a total of approximately $2 million annually; and oversaw regional grantmaking and nonprofit relations in the Connecticut River valley. Peterson’s experience also includes 15 years with Appalachian Trail Conservancy coordinating land protection, resource management and volunteer stewardship along 700 miles of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail in New England.
“I am thrilled to join CDFA’s team,” says Peterson. “I look forward to working with a dedicated group of staff and organizations across New Hampshire who care deeply about our state and work every day to help improve life in our communities.”
Peterson and his wife, Rebecca Lovejoy, reside in Lyme where he serves as the elected Town Moderator and maintains a network of trails for walking and skiing. He chairs the advisory committee for the Class of ’82 Upper Valley Community Impact Fellowship at Dartmouth’s Center for Community Service, and he is an informal advisor to the Dartmouth Outing Club.
In 2017, Peterson presented on impact investing at TEDxFargo. Peterson is a graduate of the Leadership New Hampshire class of 2007 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from Dartmouth College.
If you would like to contact Peterson regarding his new role, please email or call 603-226-2170.
