Heart of Your City on NH Chronicle Highlights People Making a Difference

Manchester – Citizens Bank and WMUR-TV have named Donna Coraluzzo the “Heart of Your City” for her outstanding commitment to the city of Dover. Coraluzzo is the executive director of the Dover Children’s Home, a nonprofit residential treatment home for children ages 12 to 20 who are abused, neglected or have committed delinquent acts. The Dover Children’s Home offers a wide array of services designed to improve academic, social, and independent living skills.

Heart of Your City is a year-long partnership between Citizens Bank and WMUR-TV that recognizes people who are making good things happen in New Hampshire’s 13 cities. Each honoree is featured on NH Chronicle and on the Destination Downtown section of WMUR-TV’s website.

"I am passionate about helping these children achieve their goals and become better, more productive, caring individuals," said Coraluzzo. "I love the challenge of finding a solution to each unique circumstance. It may take time and effort to figure it out, but there is always a way to help a child grow and prosper."

Coraluzzo is also involved with several local nonprofit organizations. She has been on the board of directors of the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce for the past three years, taking an active leadership role in several committees including the annual Apple Harvest Day. She is also a member of the Dover Kids Cabinet and Women of the Moose.

"Donna’s dedication to transforming the lives of our troubled youth is an inspiration," said Joe Carelli, President, Citizens Bank, New Hampshire. "Her work with the Dover Children’s Home has helped to ensure that these children’s futures are bright and hopeful. We are proud to work with WMUR-TV to showcase people like Donna and the tremendous work they do in our local communities."

"Dover is incredibly fortunate to have Donna as a community leader,” said Molly Hodgson Smith, Executive Director of the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce. “From her work with the Dover Children’s Home to her service on the chamber board, her energy and enthusiasm for the greater good touches so many people. She truly is the Heart of Dover."

Other New Hampshire towns to be featured in the Heart of Your City program are Claremont, Lebanon, Manchester, Nashua, Portsmouth, Rochester and Somersworth. Cities that have already been highlighted include Berlin, Concord, Franklin, Keene and Laconia.

Nominations for Heart of Your City will be accepted throughout the year. If you would like to nominate an individual or group for this honor, please the WMUR website: www.wmur.com/destination-downtown.
