The Hannah Grimes Center Announces New Board President

Keene - The Hannah Grimes Center for Entrepreneurship has announced that Dr. Kim Mooney, President of Franklin Pierce University, will serve as President of the Board of Directors. Mary Ann Kristiansen, Executive Director of the center, said, "President Mooney has been an engaged board member since 2016 and we are happy to have her leadership on the board as Hannah Grimes continues to grow.  Her entrepreneurial approach and deep understanding of collaborative programming will serve us well as we expand our training programs and entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region."

The Keene-based Center for Entrepreneurship provides the space, tools and connections that innovative entrepreneurs need to build strong businesses, thriving local economies, and vibrant communities in the Monadnock Region. Through the incubator, workshops, annual CONNECT event and other programs, the Center helps entrepreneurs overcome obstacles and develop their businesses.

Dr. Mooney is the sixth president of Franklin Pierce University, having served previously as Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. She holds her Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of New Hampshire, and is the first female and first alumna to serve in the role of President at the institution. She was recently recognized on a short list of Top Women-Led Businesses and Nonprofits in NH by Business NH Magazine. Dr. Mooney and her husband Greg Walsh formerly resided in Keene and now live in Pearly House on the University campus in Rindge.

"I am honored to take on this leadership role for this important and innovative organization. We are building partnerships that reflect the values and contribute to the well-being of communities in the Monadnock region and the state of New Hampshire," said Dr. Mooney.
