CATCH Receives Lincoln Financial Foundation Grant

Concord – CATCH Neighborhood Housing is pleased to share that it has received a generous grant of $20,000 from the Lincoln Financial Foundation in support of their collaborative housing education program, HOMEteam.

Created in 2014, HOMEteam is a partnership between CATCH, NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire, and Lakes Region Community Developers to provide residents throughout New Hampshire with tools and education for purchasing, renting, and maintaining a home. HOMEteam offers high-quality workshops like First-time Homebuyer and Financial Capabilities seminars, one-on-one counseling, and other resources to help buyers and renters. Since March 2020, HOMEteam has successfully pivoted to virtual seminars and counseling opportunities and hosted its first virtual classes for employers.

“We are very grateful for the continued support of Lincoln Financial Foundation, which has been a key supporter of HOMEteam since its creation,” said CATCH’s Executive Vice President, Tom Furtado. “Despite the challenges of 2020, we are proud that HOMEteam has adapted to continue helping families get the information they need to make sound decisions related to finances and homeownership. Now more than ever, Lincoln Financial Foundation’s support will enable more families to develop skills to make these decisions and improve their lives; we are so grateful for their support of these important programs.”

In 2019, HOMEteam provided 239 households (including 339 individuals) throughout the state with education on topics including homebuyer education, financial capabilities, and post-purchase support. 64 homes and counting were purchased with their support and counseling.

The Lincoln Financial Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Lincoln Financial Group, focuses on building stronger communities through nonprofit partnerships in education, human services and financial wellness, with the long-term goal of helping people build secure financial futures.  This grant is part of Lincoln Financial’s $10 million investment in its local communities in 2020.
