Odyssey 2019 Science Fiction and Fantasy Slam!

The Odyssey Writing Workshop, a six-week summer program for fantasy, science fiction, and horror writers, presents its 24th annual short story slam at the Nashua, New Hampshire, Barnes & Noble on Saturday, June 22nd from 3:00-4:30 p.m!

Odyssey, held at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, is widely considered one of the premier workshops for writers of fantasy, science fiction, and horror.  Writers apply from all over the world.  Top authors, editors, and agents have served as guest lecturers, including George R. R. Martin, David Brin, Terry Brooks, Harlan Ellison, Holly Black, Neil Clarke, Nisi Shawl, and Dan Simmons.  Fifty-nine percent of graduates go on to professional publication.

Jeanne Cavelos, director and creator of Odyssey, will host an afternoon of mind-bending journeys filled with awe, wonder, mystery, terror, and suspense.  Fifteen up-and-coming writers of fantastic fiction, hailing from the US, Canada, the UK, and Saudi Arabia, will read their original short stories, each five minutes or less in length.  Meet tomorrow’s top science fiction, fantasy, and horror writers today!
