Purposeful Boards, Powerful Fundraising with Dave Sternberg

Please note: this is a two-part webinar series. Registration includes two sessions:
  • Tuesday, February 15, 4-6pm
  • Tuesday, February 22, 4-6pm

It's never been more important for boards and staff to work together effectively to solicit financial support for your organization.

A small percentage of people who join nonprofit boards are really excited about fundraising. If you're NOT one of those people, this series with Dave Sternberg is absolutely essential.

Dave's dynamic approach to resource development takes into account that not every person is a "make the ask" person and helps you identify ways to find the right fit in your fundraising plan for each board member.

These practical and interactive sessions will be filled with tools you can use and are perfect for board-staff teams to address the complementary roles board members play in their organization's governance and resource development.

The first session will take a close look at board recruitment, structure, operations, and culture, knowing that weak boards don't raise funds effectively. The second session will focus on how to involve board members in effective fundraising and their role in supporting your bequest and planned giving program.

Topics covered will include:

  • Trends impacting governance & fundraising in the nonprofit sector.
  • Why some nonprofits confuse volunteering with governance.
  • Legal obligations of nonprofit boards.
  • How great boards profile before recruiting.
  • Why term limits are essential for a fundraising board.
  • How successful fundraising is not about asking for money.

Who Should Attend?

To maximize the benefit of these sessions, we recommend attending as a staff / board team.
