Using the Matrix Map to Develop Sustainable Strategies

What is the Matrix Map?

The Matrix Map is a visual representation of your organization’s finances and programs designed to ensure that, when engaging in strategic discussions, you have the data and context needed to make smart decisions.

Learn more about the Matrix Map

This workshop is designed for organizations that are familiar with the Matrix Map or have already developed their own.

You’ve mastered the Matrix Map: you’ve read the book, rated the impact of your programs, determined the true costs of your activities, and developed a snapshot of your organization that is both comprehensive and compact.

But, as you’ve probably discovered, just giving your board members a copy of your Matrix Map doesn’t immediately “solve” your sustainability difficulties.  Handing someone a tool doesn’t instantly make them an expert on how to use it and what to use it for.

Working with your board and staff team, turn theory into practice by participating in a discussion / Q&A with Steve Zimmerman of Spectrum Nonprofit Services (yes, the same Steve Zimmerman who co-wrote your copy of The Sustainability Mindset) about how to use and interpret your Matrix Map.

“There’s a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.”
