Public Health Network Assistant

Granite United Way currently serves as host agency for three (3) out of the thirteen (13) regional public health networks in the state, including the Capital Area Public Health Network, the Carroll County Coalition for Public Health, and the South Central Public Health Network. Funded in part by NH DHHS, these networks work to convene, coordinate and facilitate an ongoing network of partners to address regional public health needs.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports identified public health strategies advanced by Granite United Way, with particular emphasis on deliverables related to preventing substance use and overdose, enhancing access to suicide prevention and mental health services, and promoting resilience and emotional health for children, youth, and families.
This position supports the South Central Public Health Network, which serves the following 10 towns Atkinson, Chester, Danville, Derry, Hampstead, Londonderry, Plaistow, Salem, Sandown and Windham
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Assistant has the following responsibilities:
- Support outreach and relationship building with established and new partners throughout the region;
- Identify and maintain an accurate inventory of the assets and gaps in prevention, treatment and recovery service delivery throughout the region;
- Provide support and coordination efforts related to the implementation of the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) for the region;
- Attend regional meetings including those that the Network Specialist is unable to attend;
- Support and sustain the supply and delivery of prevention materials throughout the region, including distribution of Naloxone and Naloxboxes as required;
- Serve as the initial contact for the Recovery Friendly Workplace (RFW) Advisors when needed.
- Support data collection activities and report compilation as needed;
- Participate in relevant networks and communities of practice around the region and state as requested.
- Attend state required trainings, workshops, and monthly meetings as needed.
- Disseminate information to every community in the South Central region in order to increase awareness of and access to services with direction from the Network Specialist.
- Assist with collection and organization of relevant data sources and activity outcomes to present to Granite United Way leadership, volunteers, community stakeholders, and funding partners as requested.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Proven experience in a professional setting, preferably in Public Health, supporting collaboration, information sharing and education.
- Some knowledge through education or experience of New Hampshire’s systems of care, including substance use prevention, behavioral health and community support services.
- Ability to coordinate multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills required: including listening skills, written and oral communication skills, facilitation skills, and presentation skills.
- Ability to contribute effectively as part of a team.

- Microsoft Office skills, database management, and basic website maintenance experience
ENVIRONMENT:
The venue of this position is a general office environment that is clean, well-lighted, and environmentally comfortable, free of fumes or airborne particles, and only minimally exposes employees to office solvents limited to those relative to copier equipment.
This position requires:
- Minimal requirement to reach at or above shoulder level; occasional reaching below shoulder level required
- Ability to travel throughout the territory required
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include night and weekends
- Ability to tolerate prolonged sitting and/or standing and to lift to approximately 25 pounds to waist high level whenever necessary.
