About the job
The Healthy Families America (HFA) program works with pregnant and parenting families of children prenatally up to age 5. Waypoint's HFA Team is seeking a compassionate registered nurse who has a strong focus on health education and its solutions to issues related to or affecting children's health. The HFA nurse educator, in collaboration with the HFA home visiting team and following the HFA model, works with families to improve health outcomes for pregnant women, postpartum women, and children. The nurse educator also provides consultation as needed to Family Support Specialists and collaborating agencies.
This is a full-time position, but we are willing to consider part-time for the right candidate. We strongly encourage retired nurses to consider this role with a flexible schedule.
Key job responsibilities will include but are not limited to building relationships and communicating with families within their homes, health assessments, education and support following HFA guidelines, educating pregnant women on birthing, breastfeeding, family planning, mother-child bonding, and health resources to reduce risk factors.
Qualifications:
- You must be passionate about our mission and purpose
- Education: RN
- Experience: working with pregnant women, newborns, young children, and families needed.
- Familiar with community agencies and programs serving the southern NH area.
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to respect clients from a variety of backgrounds and situations.
- Ability to follow through with tasks, be self-motivated, travel to client homes, and work cooperatively with families, other organizations, and volunteers.
- Ability to be independently mobile in a variety of home and community-based settings
- Flexibility with schedule to meet family needs
- Must pass a criminal record check, with no history of abuse, neglect, or exploitation, and a motor vehicle check
- Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance that meets agency minimum liability coverage of $50,000/$100,000
