Summary of Position
The Grant & Finance Manager at RCCD will provide all financial, HR, and grant administration services, while performing additional IT and administrative duties for the smooth operations of the RCCD. This position will work closely with the District Manager (DM) and assist with completing directives of the Board of Supervisors for financial and other requested documentation. This position has the opportunity for a partial hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with grant proposal submissions and budget development though detailed spreadsheet development for funding requests and other estimating/invoicing needs
- Monthly expense reconciliation
- Complete or oversee all A/P and A/R activities.
- Handling or overseeing monthly reconciliation, deposits and payments, scheduling, vendors, contracts, records and audits.
- Complete HR files for existing and new hires
- Manage other HR responsibilities such as health insurance.
- Ensure all payroll procedures are enacted correctly.
- IT coordination, and other administrative District related duties
Qualifications:
- Experience in grant administration, financial budgeting, and IT practices, or related field.
- Extensive knowledge of spreadsheets, financial, and administrative management.
- Good oral and written communication skills,
- High level of detail, math and analytical/financial skills.
- Advanced computer skills with strong IT and/or technology skills
- High competence in Microsoft suite
- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in field related to finance or business OR comparable work experience.

- Strong leadership skills: Ability to take ownership of the resolution of problems, be flexible, accountable, and manage conflict,
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Prioritize tasks and consistently meet deadlines while working with others in a positive manner with supportive practices.
- Working knowledge of the administrative components of a funding proposal including understanding of standard proposal requirements, terms, and conditions; budget development; resource requirement, and sub-awards.
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable federal, state and other sponsor regulations related to funded (State, Federal and non-profit) projects.
- Analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills, including experience researching and analyzing data to develop accurate reports, identify valid solutions, forecast consequences of proposed action and implement a course of action.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all staff.
- Knowledge or interest in conservation field and practices.
- Superior time-management practices and outstanding attention to detail, takes pride in doing work accurately and correctly.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a diverse working environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate complicated concepts clearly with respect and patience.
