About the Organization
Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention (MCVP) is the domestic and sexual violence and stalking crisis center for the 44 towns of the Monadnock region. MCVP is a member program of the NH Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence and a Monadnock United Way agency.
MCVP’s mission is to respond to domestic & sexual violence & stalking in our community by providing a care & support system for survivors and to work to end interpersonal violence in all forms through primary prevention, community engagement & collaboration.

Job Title: Family Violence Prevention Specialist

Salary Range: $40,000-$60,000
Position Summary
To provide advocacy, prevention services, and direct support services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, stalking, and human trafficking within the Monadnock Region in collaboration with the Division of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF).
Key Responsibilities
The Family Violence Prevention Specialist (FVPS) is an essential role at the Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention (MCVP). The FVPS works in collaboration with DCYF to prevent and respond to family violence, when both domestic violence and child abuse are reported. The FVPS will work half time at MCVP and half time at DCYF. While working with children and families is a crucial component of the FVPS’s responsibilities, the person in this position will also work with any client who seeks services from MCVP.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and uphold confidentiality
- Commitment to trauma-informed and survivor-centered approaches
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of domestic and sexual violence, stalking, human trafficking, and the co-occurrence of child abuse and domestic violence
- Knowledge of local social services and community resources
- Experience providing crisis intervention and survivor advocacy
- Comfort with facilitating education or awareness programming for the public or professionals
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Compensation and Benefits
- Ranges from $55,000 to $75,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications

Additional Requirements
This role involves both field and office-based work in close collaboration with DCYF and community partners. Candidates must meet the following requirements to support safe, responsive, and effective service delivery:
- Availability for occasional evening or weekend hours to support on-call coverage, client needs, or special events
- Completion of:
- 30-hour Foundations of Advocacy training through MCVP and the NH Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence (NHCADSV), in accordance with NH RSA 173-C
- DCYF Core Training, provided after hire
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout the Monadnock Region
- Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and willingness to undergo criminal background and DMV checks
- Residency within the Monadnock Region (or willingness to relocate)
- Willingness to sign and uphold a confidentiality agreement consistent with MCVP’s values and state law
[1] The FVPS will work 20 hours per week in the DCYF Keene District Office with the Child Protective Services Unit and 20 hours per week in the MCVP office. The FVPS will be 100% an employee of MCVP.
