The mission of Voices Against Violence is to break the cycle of violence by providing comprehensive services for all victims and survivors and by creating social change through education and action.
Voices Against Violence is a crisis services agency located in Plymouth, NH. We provide information and support to victims and survivors, their family and friends, community members, and professionals around domestic violence, children who witness domestic violence, sexual violence and harassment, stalking, human trafficking and bullying. We are Southern Grafton County’s resource for the most updated and current information, state and federal guidelines, and best practices around these issues. Our services are available for victims, survivors and non-offending family members and friends.

About the Job
Direct Service/Child Advocate
Advocates provide a full range of services to survivors whose lives have been affected by domestic and sexual violence, child abuse, and stalking. Primary job functions include crisis intervention, case management, and referrals to community resources. The Direct Service/Child Advocate supports children and families by providing comprehensive services to help break the cycle of violence through education and action.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and follow up support at hospitals, child advocacy centers, schools, and court.
- Provide direct service/crisis intervention, including office interactions, telephone and walk-in coverage, crisis calls and follow up.
- Coordinate trauma informed supports and services, case management, and referrals for minors.
- Network with area court personnel, school, police, DCYF, CAC, social service agencies.
- Conduct professional training to staff, volunteers, and community partners. Must be capable of delivering presentations, outreach, and education, comfortable communicating with diverse populations individually and in large groups.
- Participate in organizations collection of data and maintaining client files in accurate, complete, and timely manner.
- Knowledge of technology and social media specifically used by children and youth.
- Co-facilitate child and youth groups as needed.
- Maintain all necessary documentation for program and position.
- Work flexible hours and provide after business hours support to clients as
- needed.
- Provide and / or assist clients in managing transportation needs.
- Participate in agency wide meetings and events.
- Provide office and shelter coverage.
- Other duties as requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent life/work experience.
- Effective communication skills; strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to intervene in crisis situations and remain calm.
- Able to maintain client confidentiality.
- Understanding of issues related to domestic, sexual violence and stalking.
- Adequate computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook as well as the ability to work in and learn other data collection systems.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
Job Functions
- Successful completion of 30-hour Confidentiality Training in accordance with NH RSA 173-C.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and vehicle insurance coverage.
Physical Demands
- Employee may be required to sit or stand frequently for long periods of time.

AT WILL
FULL TIME: 40 HOURS PER WEEK
NON-EXEMPT
REPORTS TO: Executive Director and Client Services Coordinator
